Anthropology majors earn awards and reach graduation

Four EKU Anthropology students earned awards in the Spring 2023. Sarah Neuspickel was honored as the annual Distinguished Anthropology graduate for her excellence in scholarship and mentoring EKU Anthropology students.

A self-described “dinosaur kid,” Marley Yopp is using his degree in anthropology and geology to uncover a bright future. 
 
Yopp said his interest in geosciences began as a fascination with fossils and expanded as he engaged in outdoor pursuits with his father.

Dr. Kelli Carmean, a Professor of Anthopology at EKU for 30 years, retired in 2023. Most recently, Dr. Carmean and EKU students studied abroad to Scandinavia to explore Viking Archaeology.
